The city of Waupaca’s Economic Development Strategy, published in 2021, highlighted the need for publicly accessible spaces equipped with high-speed internet and digital tools to support remote workers, microbusinesses, freelancers, and job seekers. To meet this need, the Business Service Center will be outfitted with co-working space, multi-purpose classrooms, telehealth rooms, and a recording studio for digital content creation.
In parallel, Parks and Recreation staff have recognized that the Recreation Center is often times over capacity, with patrons competing for limited gym space. Increased gymnasium space will accommodate more youth and adult leagues, open gym sessions, and rental opportunities for local organizations and events
