Housing a large gym, aquatic center, auditorium, community gathering spaces and a daycare center, the Kroc Center is a transformational facility for the Green Bay area. The overall mission was to align the building design with the three core tenets of the Kroc and Salvatorian missions: Strengthen, Enrich, and Encourage.

Devised to provide the Greater Green Bay community with a galvanizing and wonderfully useful facility, the Ray and Joan Kroc Corp Community Center makes a grand impact, both functionally and aesthetically.

The regional heritage of Northeast Wisconsin is on prominent display through the use of materials and imagery. The building is a traditional masonry construction. Metal panels are a nod to the area’s industrial roots and once-thriving rail service that brought great prosperity. Nature, water, and train imagery are found inside several of the spaces to tie the building to its location.

The main entrance greets visitors with open arms and leads to a central reception area that holds views of the facility’s three main program areas. This is the hub and control point for staff to help guests.

The Center houses a large gymnasium, aquatic center, chapel/auditorium, exercise rooms, daycare center, several lounges, locker rooms, and community meeting areas.

Great lengths were taken to implement green initiatives into the project. The building meets both LEED Silver and Focus on Energy certifications. The pool has an ultra-efficient heating system, while many materials were extracted and harvested from within a 500-mile radius of Green Bay. Even the landscaping is designed to mitigate maintenance costs and time.
