Planning and renovations to a building in use has its challenges, challenges that become more pronounced in a fully-functioning hospital. For this project, close coordination of drawings, time management, and constant communication were vital to its success.
The CT scanner room is an enclosed space within another room. The interior walls are sourced lead shields and provide valuable docking space for screens and connection points for medical equipment. The exterior walls provide a shell to house and separate the CT room.
Ceiling-mounted rails guide the CT scanner over the procedure space and slide the scanner back to its resting position after taking images for seamless transitions between scans. The technology may be complicated, but its ability to function in the room is not.
