Key design goals included creating a welcoming and comfortable space that appeals to all age groups. Staff input shaped the vision, emphasizing warmth, safety, and a home-like atmosphere.
The interior design respects the existing architecture while introducing a lighter, modern finish palette, breathing new life into the building. Notable features include painted reclaimed paneling from the original building at reception, new stone cladding and a large wood mantle at the fireplace, and linear lighting that brings a clean, non-institutional feel to the main corridors.
The functional layout was re-imagined to improve circulation and efficiency. A new entry sequence
separates public areas, administrative spaces, and patient care zones. Core services, including an expanded pharmacy, hood room, and lab, occupy central locations. Meanwhile, the clinic areas were designed with centralized amenities and thoughtfully arranged exam and treatment rooms to increase staff efficiency.
It was vital that the clinic be able to maintain operations during construction, leading to a three-phased construction plan. Despite these complexities, the result is a refreshed, uplifting facility that embodies the client’s dedication to providing unwavering support, expert care, and a compassionate community for those with bleeding disorders.
