Here, two private pods provide seclusion for those that want it. The remainder of the floor offers flexible community space.
Cabinets were placed strategically between chairs to balance privacy and openness, and small privacy screens give patients further control over their environment. Everyone has ample room, whether they want to nestle in to their own private conversations or reach out for extended social support. The design also incorporates abundant daylight from two-story windows.
Thoughtful details, like storage cubbies and extra outlets at each treatment center, were added with both patients and their caregivers in mind.
Details to address clear sightlines and continuity of care were incorporated throughout the project, which also included a medical oncology clinic and finish updates to the adjacent radiation therapy suite. Modern light fixtures were chosen as an intentional shift away from typical hospital aesthetics, complementing the bright, airy design.
