Project Summary

BIRTH CENTER REMODELING

When St. Joseph’s Hospital chose to renovate the entire Obstetrics Department, the remodeling reflected a comprehensive approach to care that encompassed wholly integrated obstetrics and gynecological services. The newly named and renovated Birth Center includes 9,160 GSF of space, featuring large, comfortable patient rooms with the latest technology for both patient comfort and medical advances, and a centrally located nursery within the department. Additional post-partum rooms include optional family beds and partner sleeping accommodations, to support the entire family.

The patient rooms for both LDR and post-partum reflect a hospitality environment. Wood grain patterns on the rooms’ resilient flooring, along with accent walls and contoured base give a warm, welcoming feel, while the solid-surface counters and ceramic tile offer easily cleanable surfaces. Multiple levels of access control create a secure environment for infants and mothers.
